The New Jersey
D.A.R.E. Association has named Chief James L. Benson, of the Middlesex
Borough Police Department, as “Chief of the Year”.
Chief Benson was cited for his “leadership and
commitment to the Middlesex Borough Police Department’s D.A.R.E.
program and the New Jersey D.A.R.E. program, and for his unselfish
commitment to drug abuse and violence prevention”.
Mr. Nicholas DeMauro, Executive Director of
New Jersey D.A.R.E, presented Chief Benson’s award to him on June 24,
2003, at the New Jersey State Chiefs Annual Training Conference.
